- sequence_number: 33

- notes: Title reports victory of American forces and their Lower Creek allies over the Upper Creeks, then called the Red Sticks, under the command of Maj. Gen. Andrew Jackson; this "Battle of Horseshoe Bend" effectively ended the so-called Creek War in what is modern-day Alabama.
The Virginia Argus was printed and published by Samuel Pleasants from 1793 until his death in October 1814, so the attribution here; this item also evinces the continuing connections between Pleasants and two of his protégés, Seaton and Fleming Grantland, who were then the publishers of the Georgia Journal.
