Petition seeking change in Lynchburg Chancery Court District.
- imprint_number: 1814.106
- title: To the General Assembly ... citizens of the county of Nelson...
- sequence_number: 106
- year: 1814
- place_issued: Lynchburg
- issuing_press: Uncertain
- author: Residents of Nelson County.
- notes: In the December 1813 session, the General Assembly divided the Richmond & Williamsburg chancery-court districts into four, adding two new courts at Fredericksburg & Lynchburg; this petition asked that Nelson County be reassigned from the Staunton district to the Lynchburg one; the Assembly agreed in an act passed on December 19, 1814 (Chap. XXXV of Acts of October 1814 Assembly).
Sheet lacks colophon; proximity of Nelson County to Lynchburg suggests that this broadside issued there, but the press cannot be identified.
