- notes: The first statute enacted by the November 1816 Assembly; this bill was introduced and ordered printed on November 12th, the second day of the session, and passed by the House on the 13th; the Senate gave their concurrence on November 14th, the third day of the session; the law was published as Chap. VII of the Acts of the November 1816 Assembly with title: An Act of suspend the operation of an Act entitled, "An Act to provide more effectually for the payment of specie by the several banks of the Commonwealth." The immediate need for such a suspension was the reason Gov. Nicholas called an early meeting of this session.
No copy known extant; Thomas Ritchie, the public printer, was ordered to print 250 copies of this bill for the use of the Assembly, so the attribution here to partnership then conducting Ritchie's press.
