Act to Incorporate Subscribers to Certain Banks in District of Columbia.
- imprint_number: 1817.057
- title: An act to incorporate the subscribers to certain banks in the District of Columbia; and to prevent the circulation of the notes of unincorporated associations within the said district. Passed March 3, 1817.
- sequence_number: 57
- year: 1817
- place_issued: Alexandria
- issuing_press: Uncertain
- author: United States. Fourteenth Congress.
- notes: Reprinting of Chap. XCIIl of Acts of Second Session of Fourteenth Congress; content matches a statute enacted by the Assembly in February 1816 concerning Virginia banks and notes.
Title lacks colophon; imprint states: "Printed for the Union Bank of Alexandria." Item almost certainly printed in Alexandria, as two publishers there – Samuel Snowden and John Corse (Corse & Rounsavell) – were involved with that city's Union Bank; however, which of those two press offices (or another) issued this title is uncertain, so the indeterminacy here.
