Report on Resolutions on Board of Public Works and Literary Fund (1).
- imprint_number: 1817.128
- title: [Report of select committee on proposed resolutions relative to the abolition of the board of public works, and the president and directors of the literary fund, December 31, 1817]
- sequence_number: 128
- year: 1817
- place_issued: Richmond
- issuing_press: Thomas Ritchie
- author: Virginia. General Assembly.
- notes: First of two reports on resolutions proposed by Archibald Thweatt of Chesterfield County that would have eliminated two "corporations" that he thought were created in violation of the limited powers granted to the state government by the 1776 constitution; the second was issued on January 25th (1818.010), which led to a deferral of their further consideration.
Swem apparently conflated the two reports under a single entry number, as reported here.
No copy known extant; Thomas Ritchie, the public printer, was ordered on December 5, 1817, to print 300 copies of these resolutions for the use of the Assembly, so the attribution here to the partnership then conducting Ritchie's press.
