- notes: A standardized price list for work in Richmond's printing offices in 1818; original was signed in manuscript in the names of the five principal press offices then operating there: Augustine Davis; Ritchie, Trueheart & DuVal; John Warrock; Shepherd & Pollard; and William W. Gray; that ascription suggests the five offices had agreed to a common set of rates to prevent any one of them from undercutting the other four, a European practice dating to the guild era.
Only known copy was in possession of the Richmond printing firm of Whittet & Shepperson before 1971; it was photocopied by the Virginia Historical Society prior to publication then of Hummel's Southeastern Broadsides; its current location is unknown, given firm's dissolution in 1988 and the deaths of its last proprietors, R. McLean Whittet Sr. (1980) and Jr. (2004); the print seems to have devolved to the possession of Whittet & Shepperson based on founder George W. Shepperson's early trade association with the successors of Shepherd & Pollard; he formed the long-lived company with Scottish immigrant Robert Whittet in about 1872.
Sheet lacks colophon; as title could have been printed by any one of the presses noted, so the indeterminacy reported here.
