The Doctrine and Worship of the Roman Catholic Church.
- imprint_number: 1818.084
- title: An attempt to explain and vindicate the doctrine and worship of the Roman Catholic Church by John Andrews, of Norfolk, Virginia.
- sequence_number: 84
- year: 1818
- place_issued: Norfolk
- issuing_press: Shields, Charlton & Co.
- author: Andrews, John (1764-1845).
- notes: Only known copy, held by the Virginia Historical Society, carries manuscript notations by Andrews, suggesting that he intended a second edition, which was never issued. Herein, he discussed his conversion to Catholicism from Episcopalianism as a result of a stage-coach journey from Williamsburg to Richmond.
Title was issued as part of ongoing controversy over attempts by the Bishop of Baltimore to name priests to American Catholic parishes, rather than being elected by the congregation there, as in Protestant churches, a eight that the Norfolk parish was then asserting.
