Petition seeking Bank or Brank Bank in Town of Danville (3).
- imprint_number: 1818.124
- title: To the honorable the General Assembly ... petition of sundry inhabitants of the town on Danville …
- sequence_number: 124
- year: 1818
- place_issued: Danville
- issuing_press: Elhanan W. Reinhart
- author: Inhabitants of the Town of Danville.
- notes: One of at least 8 petitions (Danville, Lynchburg, and counties of Henry, Campbell, Bedford, Halifax, and Patrick) presented to the Assembly on December 11, 1818, requesting either the establishment of a newly-chartered bank at Danville, or requiring one of the state's existing banks to open a branch office there.
Sheet lacks colophon; Hummel supplied an 1818 date without consulting Assembly records; the other printed petitions presented that day carried colophon of Elhanan W. Reinhart, so this also likely issued from his Danville office, established in the spring of 1818, so item was printed sometime between then and Assembly opening in December.
