• notes: One of several petitions presented to the Assembly on December 12, 1818 asking increases in rents charged at Virginia's tobacco-inspection warehouses; Ball was executor for William Ball, proprietor of the Shockoe Warehouse, and so interested in its viability; Seabrook was the proprietor of the warehouse bearing his surname; the petitions resulted in an alteration of the statute governing the rent scale on all tobacco warehouses in the state (Chap. XXVII of Acts of December 1818 Assembly).
  Sheet lacks colophon; as both warehouses mentioned were in Richmond, this title is clearly a Richmond imprint; however, the multiplicity of presses there makes a definitive attribution to any one of them impracticable without more evidence, so the indeterminacy here.
