Report of the Committee of Schools and Colleges.
- imprint_number: 1819.016
- title: [Report of committee on the expediency of extending legislative patronage to the several colleges and academies].
- sequence_number: 16
- year: 1819
- place_issued: Richmond
- issuing_press: Thomas Ritchie
- author: Virginia. General Assembly.
- notes: No copy known extant; the report presented to the House on February 3, 1819, addressed the question of whether the condition of the Literary Fund was then sufficient to increase spending on public education; the single document carried both the report and suggested resolutions for the Assembly, ones stating an insufficiency of funds for such an increase.
Swem apparently thought that the two elements generated two titles from this report (nos. 9030 & 9055), even though the House journal indicates both entries were a part of a single sheet imprint; so Swem's entry number reported here is that for the overall report.
Thomas Ritchie was ordered to print 250 copies of this report for the use of the Assembly on February 3, 1819, so attribution here to the partnership then conducting Ritchie's press.
