- notes: Boyce was a bookseller who had arrived in Lynchburg in 1813 to establish a branch of the Richmond bookselling firm he conducted with his brother John Boyce; this title and minutes of the Strawberry Baptist Association (1818.076) are the latest evidence of the presence of Boyce's business in Lynchburg; nothing is known of either Boyce after May 1819.
