- notes: Initial report from the new treasurer, Jerman Baker, detailing extent of the mismanagement of the Treasury by John Preston (1760-1827) who, after comingling his finances with those of the state, was forced into bankruptcy, so leading to his removal on January 19th.
Thomas Ritchie, the public printer, was ordered on February 7, 1820, to print 250 copies of this report for the use of the Assembly, so the attribution to partnership then conducting Ritchie's press. Swem reported this item twice, once from the order to print the report (9111), and again from the imprint itself (9156); Swem number here is for printed object.
