- place_issued: Richmond
- issuing_press: Peter Cottom
- author: Mason, Richard (b. 1747)
- notes: Cotton entered a copyright for this work on May 27, 1820; that action suggests that Cottom acquired this work from Mason's estate (his death date in unknown); the first edition was published in Petersburg in 1811 for a living Mason by John Dickson (1811.090); seven more editions of Mason's handbook were published over the rest on the nineteenth century.
Imprint states: "Published by Peter Cottom, and for sale at his law and miscellaneous book store, near Eagle Hotel, and by Richard Cottom, Petersburg, 1820." Likely printed by Edmund Davis, who appears to have been Cottom's chosen printer in 1820, but unlike the other titles Davis produced, this one does not bear a colophon for his press, so the attributions here.
