- imprint_number: 1813.023
- title: Particulars relative to L.H. Girardin's contemplated establishment at Glenmore, near Milton, Albemarle County, Virginia. … L. H. Girardin. Milton, January 1st. 1813.
- sequence_number: 23
- year: 1813
- place_issued: Richmond
- issuing_press: Samuel Pleasants
- author: Girardin, Louis Hue (1771-1825).
- notes: Only known copy is held in the special collections department of the University of Virginia.
Sheet lacks colophon; Girardin advertised his new school exclusively in the Virginia Argus from November 1812 to April 1813, so this handbill almost certainly issued from the press of Samuel Pleasants as well; Girardin abandoned Richmond and his school there in early 1812 after losing his wife, a son, and several students in the Richmond Theater Fire of December 1811; sadly, the featured performance that fateful night was The Bleeding Nun, a French play that Girardin had translated into English for the Placide & Green theatrical company.
